JMicron’s SATA storage device controllers have enhanced data transmission performance, as well as an associated internal hardware accelerator that maximizes sequential and random data read/write rates. All SATA storage device controllers are required to go through the SATA compliance test before they are released to market to ensure full compatibility with prevailing SATA hosts and SATA devices.

Most of our controllers provide the functions of RAID, Clone, Port Multiplier and Port Selector. These solutions address all segments of the HDD and SSD electronics markets. External data storage devices can be used for redundant data storage, additional data storage, storage enclosure, or convenient data retrieval from the field.
1:2 or 1:5 Port Multiplier/RAID Controller
A single SATA host IC can link to multiple SATA devices through Port Multiplier controller. For SATA Port Multiplier, JMicron enhances the data protection and the performance between the devices and the host to JMicron’s RAID series controllers featuring 1:2 and 1:5 RAID 0/ 1/ 5/ 10.
- Port Multiplier Application: set-top-boxes, media players, and NAS products.
- RAID Controller Application: NAS having RAID storage devices, video surveillance systems and HDD Duplicators.
2:1 or 5:1 Port Selector
A number of SATA host ICs can link to a single SATA device through Port Selector. JMicron has supplied 1:2 Port Selector application:
